Scenic Design

It all begins with the text. A designer looks to the text in order to build the world in which the play lives. In MoTS, I learned to research the play first, write a Scenic Design Statement, (allowing for deep consideration of the text) draft the set, and construct a model in 1/4 inch scale, render this model, and then finally go to build the final scenic work in live scale.

First Year

In year one of MoTS, I built a model box of the MoTs Proscenium stage in 1/4 inch scale out of foam core. This will be the home to many of my designs in the coming years!
